According to a recent Atlanta Business Chronicle article, the former Firestone Auto Supply and Service Store (1052 Peachtree Street, NE, 1937-8) designed by Seward D. Legge, and currently occupied by the Vision nightclub, is targeted for demolition to make way for a new mixed-use development:
In Midtown, the 27,000-square-foot Vision Nightclub & Lounge could soon have to turn off its disco ball. Plans call for its Peachtree Street location to become the latest mixed-use condo tower from developers Selig Enterprises Inc. and Daniel Corp., which have the property under contract. Loss of this unique and remarkable structure will be unfortunate, highlighting the ongoing destruction of Atlanta’s Modern heritage (see previous post).
